Kyung Wha Chung plays Bach trio sonata in c, BWV 1079 1st movement Largo. James Galway plays the flute, Phillip Moll the harpsichord, and Moray Welsh the cello. Recorded live at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.
@mtv565 you are right I'm just a nobody also If I'm a flute teacher in an high school in Italy but I have my ideas concerning Bach and interpretation. These kind of performances are good for american people....More than Bach it looks Brahms. I'm nobody but you who are?
@zaffiro61 If this performance's tempo is wrong, they won't receive applause and so many people paying money to watch them play. And, you're just a nobody.
@mtv565 I have never said that Bach's music is boring. Do you know how to read? I have only said that the tempo used in this performance is too slow. Do you know the meaning of italian term 'Largo'? If I compare this performance with the others I know (Nicolet, Harnoncourt, Goebel and some other) I'm sure that the tempo used here is too slow. So I think also that you need a brain trasplant, or learn to read!
Largo in baroque music is faster than Adagio or Lento (all italian terms) this performance is too slow (really if I consider Quantz essay or some other source of XVIII century) and boring (according to my taste)..
@herodot2 exactly, nor an adagio neither a lento.

@mtv565 I don't think so. This piece at this time and with that 'vibrato' doesn't work well. I suggest you to listen other performances.

@zaffiro61 There's nothing wrong of the tempo of this performance. Bach music works in all various tempos. Didn't you know that?
