Fall hike in Franconia Notch NH. 8 miles round trip, with a gain of about 3400'. Beautiful day with almost no wind. We were in shorts and t-shirts almost all day.
Great day to be hiking in the White Mountains

  • Nice... thanks for sharing this. I'm doing an overnight on Liberty this weekend. High temps in the upper 50s, lows in the 30s. Great weekend for it!

  • @philinconcord Nice! Hope the weekend was good!

  • I hiked this trail when it began at the head of The Flume and there was no admission fee for hikers. It continued to the Liberty Spring/Flume Slide Trails junction. There used to be a shelter where the tentsite is now. That was back when Rt 3 was the main route through Franconia Notch. There was nowhere near the number of hikers that are climbing the 4000 footers now. Ah well, times change.
