@vipete1985 Thanks again bro, I did get that jelly shit to clear up. at the time I was dialing back my skimmer because the flow was too much and sturring up my sb. I added more outlets dispersing the return flow and now run it wide open which makes more flow thru my sump that sturrs up the sump water and bye bye jelly bullshit. haha. about the DSB ahhhh I def contemplated it for a while but Im too new in the salt water game. thats one reason im playing it safe with the 1" sand bed, CONTINUED

@RedSeaReef I heard it wasnt really anything to worry about but, during this video I dialed back the return flow which lessened the flow thru the sump. since then I opened up the return valve and have full flow going thru the sump. with the extra flow theres no more stagnant water in the sump so I dont really have this problem anymore. so I would say increase flow if you can or drop in a little powerhead in the sump if it really bothers you.

@ShizzlePDX503 Oh man I was living on NYsteelo and MrSWT's channels for a long time, to the point where my woman was like Holy sh!t your watching those videos AGAIN? haha you know how it is, I want to learn everything and anything I could be4 I even started my build so I do it right the first time ya know. My skimmer was a pain in the ass but finally kicked in like Bruce Lee the other day now its freakin awsome. and alot more consistant. just took time. thanks for the props man I appreciate it
They jelly goes away if u agitate the water

@MyMrFlintstone yea it went away after I increased the flow and lowered the water level in the sump a little so the water has to drop a quater inch into the bubble trap, worked great.

Hi, Nice setup you are building there !!! love the stand, good idea.. i may do something like that too, but wont it get too hot?
one thing that i noticed, you dont have enough teeth on the overflow box... i think the level is way too high and later on the flow will be rediced with algae growing on the teeth and so on... I would suggest you to carve at least one more hole between each of those that you have, your flow will also increase and it will skim a lot better the surface... just my point

@MrAlien79 Thanks for the comment, there is about a 10" open gap in the top back part under the stand that spans all the way across, with that and my AC on 24/7 I had no heat issues this summer. Good observation on the overflow teeth, shortly after I made this video I did exactly that, and cut more notches, it lowered the water level somewhat but with my 1800 gph pump its hard to accomidate. But you are very right it did improve the skim and flow. thanks all suggestions are appreciated.

the jelllly like subastance in ur sump is weird bro i hnestly never seeen that so i couldnt have the slightest idea abotu that hole situation but u def wannna try n loook into clearing that up but once u get some more bioload ulll def have to play with the skimmmer and adjust it a litttle, ur setup is looking fresh to def kid! i def would sugggest addding a DSB in the display before u reallly take off tho it helped me out a ton decreasing nitrates once u reallly bring up that bioload

@vipete1985 PART 2- also even for just looks I personally like the look of a really shallow sb even less then an inch, almost BB with like a sprinkle of sand on it. lol I dont know why but I do. I only got that 1" sand because I want to keep some sand sifters. I know the DSB would help with nitrates I will have to rely on water changes and chaeto, to keep mine low. finally I seen a few tanks crash if they are disturbed, im the type to constantly move things around so i didnt want to chance it
