Another video in my collection of shipwreck tributes, this time it is the USS Maine. On Febuary 15th 1898, while assigned to protect US Interests in Havana Cuba during the Cuban War of Independence...

spain lost the battle of san juan hill and every other land engagement in the war. in the philippines/guam they where too cowardly to fight and turned belly up and surrendered without a fight

No USA or Spain did not sink the Maine it was caused by coal dust explosion. Also, My grandfather Who was a cheif Petty offcier was there on USS Geoditic Survey Ship Batch and took a picture of the Maine the morning after it blew up. Also, he later spied on the spanish fort guarding the harbor using a vetigable merchants cart to hide the large glass plate camera he used to take pics of the defenses.

I knew it!

First I always thought that is was a boiler explosion, because ships back then were powered by steam.
