Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley called on Northwestern University graduates to "do something to make our world better" in an address to students at the University's 150th annual commencement on Friday, June 20, 2008.
The mayor supported a higher min. wage. Now there are a GM plant laying off people. Among other businesses scaling back back Chicago. Unemployment rate shot up,nationally. Setting price controls always negatively affects supply. Manufacturers just move to lower wage countries like China. Poverty striken youths are hurt by this the most.
Schools- the only way to improve education is a voucher system. Competition brings out the best services and products available.
