am i the only person that actually wishes there WERE death panels in the health care plan?
why the fuck do we worry so much about spending tons of money to keep useless old people alive. seriously, what do they do?
complain about the weather.
form staunch, idiotic political views and make their families listen to them.
cause car crashes.
fund retarded churches w/ their social security checks.
lecture everyone on how they should live.
watch reruns of Golden Girls.
etc.

Death panels are not just a political fetish of conservatives. We will have to have a serious conversation about death in this nation. We can't afford the unlimited demands of the elderly to extend their lives for a few more months at the cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars. At some point, we have to say: "That's enough. It's time to let nature take its course and just die with peace."

Key indicators are terms like "death panels" to describe medical decisions on patient care, and questioning regarding the cost of health care without asking if this was a factor in the decision as is always is the case w. private health insurance.

Relief of pain at end of life is not euthanasia.
At what cost do those who put profit over patients force us to pay, at what cost of pain, suffering and death when their profits are foremost; and how do we hold such people accountable.
Publicly funded doctors should make medical decisions, not accountants

This "news" item is likely generated by the pharmaceutical company referenced and private insurance companies who oppose public health insurance. It is in their financial interest to exploit patient fear for private profit.

this is old news. This story is from either 07 or 08, this lady died in 08, and this is a result of public healthcare in Oregon that went into effect in 1993
isn't it ironic that the same baby boomers that fought for the right to kill there baby in the womb now face death panels because there are not enough young working people to pay for thier health care?
