A LIFE: THE STORY OF LADY BIRD JOHNSON
TRT 57 minutes Color

The story of one of Americas most remarkable First Ladies, and her lasting legacy to the nation is celebrated in this film profiling the life of Lady Bird Johnson. Lady Bird, who filled the role of the nations First Lady from 1963 until 1968, continues to make her mark on America. Archival photos from the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library, comments by friends, family members, and former LBJ administration officials, and an in-depth interview with Lady Bird herself, provide a deeply personal and riveting look at a woman who made numerous and significant contributions to the nation—from the beautification of Americas roads and highways to the initiation of the Head Start program. This film aired on PBS stations across the country on June 18, 1993.

  • I bet you think Nancy Reagan was great. She committed adultery along with Ronald Reagan. Reagan was married to Jane Wyman at the time he was dating Nancy.

  • @Mr40acresandamule He was NOtT. Get your facts straight.

  • Devil woman rot in hell

  • LBJ was a key player in the death of President Kennedy.

  • LBJ was and always will be my favorite President. I wonder if it ever crossed Lady Bird's mind, while standing at that hospital bed, how Jackie Kennedy felt Lyndon when she faced the same situation. Only Jackie faced it in Dallas on Nov. 22nd. At least Lyndon was lucky enough to say goodbye to his loved ones. John Kennedy didn't get that opportunity. And Jackie had to say goodbye to her "Young" husband with half his head blown off! It's sad all the way around!

  • It's very obvious in her carriage and demeanor that she was a wonderful woman.
