nice! The "dislikes" are from people who couldn't do it.

How do you make the base board thing? And how do you make the beggening of the hole and notch? Thanks!

ever try picking some cotton fibers off your socks to use as tinder also?
The baseboard is cottonwood and the spindle is goldenrod. Many other woods work. Most of the weeds you see off the side off roads work well when dry and used in conjunction with a tree wood of medium hardness. One tip if you are struggling is a little honey on your hands, but not too much. This will allow you to apply more downward pressure while spinning. You could also use sap from a milk weed or any other natural sticky substance. But if you use too much you will rip your hands up.
