@fatsfan70 I have to correct you. Brian was never in a care home. He died after a long illness in Jan 2011. I used to talk to him on the phone from time to time until shortly before the end. A very nice man.
does anybody have any recordings of rust's shows they wouldn't mind sharing with me? i'm 21 and love hot dance music, and of corse missed all the shows!
Geofrey Smith just played it on Radio 3 Composer: D.J. LaRocca Performers: Charles Dornberger (cl & as), Max Connett, George Hall (tp), Thurlow ‘Ponzi’ Cranz (tb), C.C. Borland (cl & as), George Gammon (ts), Russ Carlson (p), Perry Dring (banjo), Bob Hill (b), Carl Skinner (d) Recorded: New York 10 May 1927
Great Tiger Rag , I remember Brian Rust's Mardi Gras when I first came upone it was in 1974 and then it was on about the same time as jazz record requests Saturday from 5pm -6 pm so i switching from radio 3 to capital radio so as not to miss anything.
why are the jazz programes so poor these days ,I bought a lot of records thanks to mardi gras anymore like me ALAN MORLAND<DREFACH,LLANELLI,WALES
Thank you for posting this. In the 70's as a teenager, it was Brian's show on Sundays that started me off on a lifetime's love of "hot dance music and all that jazz"!

@djoutrage18 I have dozens and dozens of episodes on tape and CD. I never missed an episode of from 1980 until it was axed in late 1984.
