Delia Smith Rag

In 1998 Delia Smith, already a British cookery institution, published her book How To Cook. This book went on to revolutionise the world of celebrity chefery and is now the biggest selling cookbook of all time, having sold over a million copies.

Like the book, the accompanying TV series went back to basics, as Delia showed millions of people across the UK how to boil an egg (and other stuff in the kitchen) the proper way, the correct way... the Delia way! Each week Delia would introduce the viewers to new, exciting ingredients which the shops would subsequently sell in droves in what became known in the food retail world as The Delia Effect.

A copy of the album containing this song and a handwritten note was given to Delia by the Minister of my church, who met her at a social function. She didn't reply. Now I'll never know what she thought of it.
