Picking the right water filter depends on the situation and the area where you will be hiking. Some people may only need purification tablets, while some water might need a purifier.

  • I just stick with the water purifier because then i dont have to question wether the water will be clean or not. Plus I don't have to deal with the taste of purification tablets.

  • There is one old method, found some sandy part of land few meters near water, then dig a hole , when it will start fulfil of water , start to bail out that water until new water in that hole starts to be clean .

  • I read somewhere that if you use the iodine methode, you can mix in some vitamin c like Tang powder or something and it would completely eliminate that iodine taste and color. Haven't tried it myself, but figured it may be of help to some people.

  • thanks for the good info :) i'm looking for the best drinking water filter that will take out clorine/cloride/bleach etc.. and flouride which i found out is really bad for us to consume (sorry for my bad spelling but its bed time and i wanted to put this question/request for more info out there) anyway i'm disabled and can't go shopping and its hard to trust ads lol, so i thought i'd ask people who might actually know, i currently have a PUR gallon size, but no longer sure its the best to use.

  • just pick up a LifeStraw. costs $20, weighs about 2 oz, supposedly filters 1000 liters and removes bacteria and protozoa to EPA standards. I emailed manufacturer and it wasn't tested for viruses since its pore size is 0.2 microns though. Hard to find in North America unfortunately, a place called greenbeetlegear on the web is where I found mine.

  • @noneactive Yes

  • Thanks man you really know your water survival.

  • great video

  • I 100% agree. And nobody never said you couldn't use a filter and then a purifier. It's better to be safe than sorry.
