last time i saw a vulcan take of was at woodford afb proberbly about 10 years ago
was absolutly awsome i also got chance to sit in the pilots seat briefly
i cant wait to see xh558
did you know 10 years ago it cost £30k in aviation fuel just to get airbourne so today it would be at least £50k ?
Vulcans use Olympus 201 and 301 engines
the 301 (more powerful) are fitted to Vulcans with numbers starting "XM"
no wonder xh558 owners are choosey about were its going to display l.o.l

Does anyone know if it's got it's display licence yet? 5 Weeks tomorrow till Fairford.

C'mon feel the noise!
This is how we do aircraft restoration in the UK! Well done fellas.
-
hope to visit some airshows this year and see it there.
-
Sorry, my mistake... Fairford should be the first display it flys...

Spoke to the guys at the vulcan stand at Duxford on sunday. They said its doubtfull that 558 will be at fairford, cosford or bigging hill. All they are now waiting for is the paperwork to come back from the caa! Thats all thats stopping them! That and money of course... Get donating people!
