I've loved this animation ever since it was released. I always took it to be a criticism on governments and revolutions (how "change for the better" or good willed revolutionaries always get tainted by the will to exert power over others).

Now I presume it's based on "Tarakanischtsche"

However the poem lacks the twist in the end that is, the sparrow becoming the new supreme ruler.

Anyone willing to shed some light on my interpretation?
