I decided to eBay my Nuclear Missile Truck in 2006. Near the end of the auction, suddenly the phone rang. The BBC! I got a call with an hour's notice saying the BBC wanted to talk to me on the drivetime prog on 5 Live. I had to jump in car and rush to BBC Newcastle to do live interview with presenter Pete Allen who was in London. My God, I was out of breath!!!
I arrived just as Newcastle plugged me in to London. I sat down and immediately began gobbing off. At first they wanted to know about my cheap new cars, and the missile truck. Then...
This is the Cockle Picker interview that got me in trouble. I think my joke about the cockle pickers was a bit too politically incorrect for the BBC, but what the hell, I only live once, eh? After the interview, my webstats went through the roof! It is amazing the difference radio can make! Eventually the eBay sale fell through. I still have my Nuclear Missile Truck. I'm so glad I didn't sell it, it ended up on Dragons' Den BBC2! - Ling
what does she say should be got rid of at 2:00? i can't understand her accent.
I don't think the cockle picker comment was politically incorrect, and anyone that says so doesn't see the humour in it
