Under the Sea with Terry Gilliam's Tideland

Over 40 fans, 200 plus strips of irridesent material, flying rigs, dummy gimbals, and miles of wire went into the shooting of this scene. Tideland was the experience of a lifetime. I will try to post the backstage version of this scene that exists in our archives. Especially funny are the photos of all the special effects crew above the set hanging on to various bits of wire to give the effect that everything in the house was floating. Wade at one point ran out of arms and was manipulating objects with his feet.

This is a brilliant movie. When I read the book I was really disturbed but I instantly fell in love with little Aliza-Rose on the big screen. My all time fav directors are David Lynch, Quinton Tarantino, Terry Gilliam, Roman Pulanski, and Martin Scorsese.
