my 406 with the xe284 and a 3.55 gear got about 8 mpg driving, and 5.1 driving to the track, running, then driving home :)

yeah didn't have any problems with that, brakes feel the same than they did with xe268 cam

I have holeshot 3600 converter in it and it runs great.

Do you have vacuum problems with this cam? Sounds great

the stock vacuum brake booster is working fine, would work even better with a vacuum canister that stores the vacuum you make when you cruise..

I DynoSym5 this cam in a 460 with ford racing SCJ heads (pocket ported) and about 10.5 compression made 617 FlyHP and 634 Fly torque... and 500+ flt lbs from 2000-6000 rpm!!!
I think i am going with a XE 284 instead of the Thumpr or MuthaThumpr cams... The XE made 20-40 more HP and a hellofalot more torque than those thumpr cams... Thumprs Great for sound, but there are other cams out there that are going to yield more HP. The throttle response on this thing is incredible!!!
what converter???

I think that true race cam sounds much better than "cheat" thumper and excessive exhaust duration doesn't increase power..
the comp xe series cams have bigger exhaust duration so it makes nice rumble sound :) my 10" converter has 3500rpm stall. runs great, the stall is just around where the cam starts to make power. still I can cruise low rpm nicely :) check out the torque converter clip from my channel!

what size valves in heads 1.94 or 2.02, i have a pair of 1.94 camel hump heads there very well ported with a torker intake and 750 holley im planning on running a xe274 with 1.6 rockers im guessing it might sound something like that.
