I'm doing visual storytelling as a freshman at Chapman right now, and I can already feel that "Why the criteria" feeling. Why can't we just make our own movie every week, not an established set of shots?
I really liked this movie, even if it "sucks."

Wow dude I saw me on that window display. "Everyone Else" I'm glad I got to star in that man! Good times. Good times. Oh ya this is Jon D. Later man.

I think the downtime is somewhat important; you need time to reflect on what worked and what you want to improve on. Plus, with no time between projects, when would you find inspiration? The 10/10 thing was a grueling test, like the Navy SEALs' Hell Week. A lot of kids couldn't come up with good material; even I had to get creative by combining projects. I'd be up for doing it again though, as long as I had some kind of crew. One-man shows are tough, and vlogs don't count.
FUCKING BRILLIANT--every bit as good as I remember it! Indeed good things have come out of the dogmatic, cookie-cutter, assembly line style of filmmaking, but only when there's a creative motherfucker like you (or me) in charge. Listen, but don't follow (blindly) indeed.
The 10 Films in 10 Weeks Visual Storytelling of Fall 2003 was a true trial; be proud you made it through, even if it did disillusion you. Damn kids these days only make half that amount of films. Buncha pussies...

10 Films in 10 Weeks, hmmm...
That might be a challenge worth tackling again. I have this friend Keith, and he grows twice as good each time he makes a film. After ten, he'd have a few pointers for Kurosawa. That is, unless making films is like building muscle. Perhaps the reason for all the growth is the down time to regenerate?
