Mark Steiger's catalina macaw Jolie puts 7 coloured parts in a puzzle. The greenwing macaw Ruby memorizes the colour of each part and associates it to the correct shape.
The video shows how Ruby proves its capacity of memorizing in a challenge against the French singer Eve Angeli.

  • The memory test of the second parrot is absolutely amazing.

The first macaw just solves a puzzle with 7 objects. Meanwhile the girl and the second parrot have to memorize the color of each shape.

The girl does very well, it is not easy to memorize seven combinations.

Amazingly the second macaw is able to learn by heart the combinations and solve correctly the puzzle.

  • Incredible! The bond you have developed with your birds is wonderful. I feel you must be a very kind and tolerant man towards your animals. You have set a fine example for me to try and emulate. I will try to see as many of your videos as possible. Thank you Mr Steiger.

  • I saw a birdshow at the Atlanta zoo, and the crows and parrots seemed to have a near childlike behavior, even a hornbill that they had brought out entertained itself by stealing a specific object. Chimpanzees have a similar highly specific short term memory, suggesting that human beings lost this during the development of our complex linguistics. On average the short term memory for human beings is between 5-9 objects, with an average of 7.

  • enjoyed watching, would help if it was translated in English especially than one could undstand what the second test is about.
