The title says it - this is NOT to produce a piece of music - it's only a way to learn how to go into the 'strumming' way - as it is called.
As a ex-drummer myself and knowing on youtube almost every pianist plays better than I do and I cannot read notes or chords - i can remember some - but what I can is the a-syncopic way of after-beating with the left hand to stimulate a jazz song on piano much more into the overdrive - that is the moment that an audience starts to react and clap and shout - clearly to see in the songs of Michel Petrucciani and Japanese Hiromi Uehara : those two practise it içn almost every sonf and mostly as a climax at the end.
The point is that these triols can really replace a drummer but not entirely and as you see in Michels Kirin "In a sentimental mood" , it works but a good walking bass player at side makes it even more explosive and swinging.

Errol Garner played a very long time alone so he started using this a lot and continued later when he was famous.
Oscar Peterson was also a Master in this stuff but used it less and he was always perfect whatever he did.
-
Now these days with this fantastic YOUTUBE performances of so many genial jazz piano players - knowing their chord voicings perfectly - going so eaely from one key to another and they make me jaelous every day. - I know at least 10 of them.
-
So this here is a simple piece of how cominhg in this 'strumming' way of playing which would make all those marvellous players really yet much more swinging and grooving.
-
That was also the reason I wrote a contest for symbolic $100 which is still running on to the end of this year - it was just a way to have those super pianists to go into the overdrive.
I'm so sure of all what I say here about strumming because it happened to me a long time ago that I had to replace a pianist who went sick and as a drummer I did just this 'strumming' and the complete audience of 15,000 people went crazy and then after 401 minutes begged for more what I could not do, because I know only drumming.
-
Of course I forgot so many famous pianists who do this also from time to time like Chick Corea, Like Keith, like Austin
and who knows more of them , just let me know.

I placed the last comment vid Only to show the strumming fdor those without experience with it.
I exaggerate a little the a-syncopic battering that is both hands never together but with a delay.
-
I know 4 pianists who do this so much better.
