  • Glad you are on there, i used to be, but was driven off by a idiot! sounds like you have done a good job on the old gal, they are cracking bikes to ride, i love mine.... the super is defo the most comfortable to ride because as you say, the seat is nice and comfy, i hope you get your spares sorted, they come up frequently on the bay and also the lads on the forum have regular clearouts, just get a list up on the wanted section....

  • Thanks! £18? bargain! is it a black super? stand loose? sounds like the spring is shot! floppy arm is a easy fix! it will need some new cotter pins, easy bought and cheap on ebay, If you need help register on the grifter forum, its easily found through google (proboards site) and there are some good lads on there with plenty of great advice... good luck with it and enjoy!

  • Wow, thats cool. I have not seen one of those in decades! Looks in great condition, 3 gears?

  • Thanks! yes its a 3 speed via a twist grip, the bike is near mint, i have 2 others a 1978 red mk 1 with the shorter rear guard and a 1980 silver mk2, see lots more of these bikes on the raleigh grifter forum, via google, i am mk2 grifter gaz on there! cheers!

  • i am on proboards site, serviced it, rides a dream, just sort the stand out later, i will pick up better ones later, comfy seat on the super, got to get a few spares in stock before the spring, sturmey archer bits / tyres / tubes / cables / etc,

  • Sick, my £18 heap from eBay needs a repaint, just greased bearings, now gonna change sprocket & chain, stand loose & floppy catching pedal arm?, then turn the thing right way up & gears & brakes,
