Why are Jews being filmed on the holy Shabbat??!

It's my violation not theirs. This was the only day I had a camera and I was leaving motzi shabbat. It was to video the davening or never to video it. I felt it too important to document these lost Jews; than to strictly keep this shabbat prohibition.

are the jews of nigeria really jews?of course they are! they clearly love their religion,and practice it,so theyre as jewish as anyone can be.Sure,theyre mostly of west african ancestry,but there might be a tiny amount of middle eastern ,and north african blood in there,somewhere.As it is,nobody knows what the jews of biblical days looked like,anyway.Im pretty sure they wouldnt have been white,but more arabic looking.who is to say some werent black?apparently there could be 30'000 igbo jews.

@Emmaolu1 According to Jewish law a person that chooses to convert (forced or coerced conversion is against Jewish law) is considered more Jewish than someone born as such because it was based upon their own decision. Judaism does not encourage conversion, in general, but when someone chooses to convert to Judaism the Jewish law says they are to be respected even more for this choice. I just came across your post so I thought I'd comment and I hope it was helpful in some way.

@KhmerD0g,Could U please back off African affairs?Why should they convert to another religion?Judaism is perfectly normal religion and they have every right to practise it anywhere in Africa whenever they want!Check out Benin's documentary where an African fetish priest goes to visit a an EuropeanCatholic priest in the church & vice versa out of curiosity!In most authentic African traditions nobody gives a damn whatever the other wants to worship!

@Ayolisah - you asked, how come Judaism is passed from mother to child in the modern age, and not father to child as in the Biblical age? The mother mostly brings up the child. The mother certain, you can't always know who the father is. Ka"arite tradition contradicts it though, favouring paternal lineage. Maternal lineage is known as (C)Halakah.

I think those "white" jews of the west have actually mixed with many white people, whilst continiously carrying their Jewish identity with them, same must go for the nigerian jews.
