My wife was pregnant with our second child when the flood hit. My daughter was born in June at Altru that summer. It was a scary time being a young father, having a two year old son and pregnant wife and having to evacuate.

the river floods every year but i hasent gotten higher than '97 on the flood marker. im scared cuz next year might be the year it will be higher cuz i live close to it and it almost got higher that '97 this year

This shit was fun.i was 13 and i would get stoned and drive my scooter all over town getting food from the red cross trucks. i was young and didn't realize how bad it really was . i'm sure i was the only one having fun.

We lost our home on the east grand forks side, a block away from the dike, if you go there now, in east grand forks, next to the blue mouse looking at the dike next to it, you can still see the tree that was in our front yard... i miss my old home, but alas, it was a childs love of that house. I was 8 years old. I am now twenty three, and still remember it like yesterday.....
