@J0cked Because Sleiphnir, even in the original Norse mythos, was one fucked up horse; that is to say, always (correctly) depicted with 8 legs. As for Odin, fuck if I know; he should have one eye.
I Swear to God the animations looked awesome back then.

@DocWilyZ Probably not, since his concept has been pretty much the same since FF3(J) on the Famicom.
Not like huge liberties aren't taken with most of these, though (Shiva as an ice goddess, what?)
And yeah, it's a video game, not mythology class, I'm done nerdraging :P
