Chris Fordham - Emerald Challenge

Chris Fordham leads multi-stakeholder committees to achieve excellence in oil sands development. His strength of character and commitment to environmental performance is demonstrated in his leadership skills with industry at both the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and the Oil Sands Developers Group and in multi-stakeholder forums that establish thresholds, objectives and frameworks to protect the environment. Chris has been tireless in this role since 2000. Recently he co-chaired the committee that developed the Phase 2 water management framework for the Athabasca River, leading to a difficult but successful conclusion. He also leads industry in support of frameworks and programs coordinating funding of over twenty million annually. Chris engages with environmental stakeholders, parliamentary committees and other groups to provide facts on information on oil sands development and impacts to promote sound decisions on oil sands management.
