I always send this to the people singing in my choruses as a suggestion to watch their enunciation. Works every time.

@HenryLeeds Just to be clear, this is probably my favorite 2 minutes on all YouTube, Adam Buxton is brilliant.

@HenryLeeds To answer your question, the text is John Mason Neal's 1851 translation of a 7th century Latin hymn: 1 Blessed city, heavenly Salem, Vision dear of peace and love, Who of living stones upbuilded Art the joy of heaven above, And, with angel cohorts circled, As a bride to earth dost move! 2 From celestial realms descending, Bridal glory round her shed, Meet for Him whose love espoused her, To her Lord shall she be led; All her streets and all her bulwarks Of pure gold are fashionèd.

This is probably making some quite serious point about how what we see trumps what we hear. And as a serious singer, it's a terrible warning that just opening my mouth and enunciating clearly isn't enough. Does anybody know what words they were meant to be singing?
