  • thanks for this hard to find classic. If anyone can this group has a treasure trove of these kind of tunes. If you have them post them. I've loved this group since a song called south philly and one called 295 (parkway from DC to Batimore)

Absolutely not MT - Rare Silk are the vocalists!

Vocals: Todd Buffa, Gaile Gillaspie, MaryLynn Gillaspie, Marguerite Juenemann

    The band consists of:

    Eric Gunnison - Keys

    Brecker Brothers - horns (arrangements)

    Kim Stone - bass

    Michael Berry - drums

    THANKS FOR LISTENING!!

  • Sang with Todd Buffa in Vocal Jazz II, University of Northern Colorado,

Greeley, Mark Mazur was the director in about fall 1978 or spring of 1979. Gene Aitken directed Vocal Jazz I. UNC Jazz Press has good vocal jazz charts, but I am not sure if any are written by Buffa.

  • Man I haven't heard this in over 20 years. Brings back many memories.. The harmonies are tight. Use to think that it was Manhattan Transfer. Thanks for the post..

  • I know Rare Silk is the band, but is this Manhattan Transfer doing the vocals? The tight harmonies are their trademark. I think it is, I used to listen to this a lot in the ealy 80's on a jazz station out of Tuskegee, AL., can't remember the call letters. Can I get a little help on this one.

  • I've been trying to find this for years!

    Thanks for Posting!

  • music like a cool summer breeze...reminds me much of manhattan transfer. I love it!
