"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.. Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?" (The Apostle Paul to 1 Corinthians 15:19,29).

"...I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (John 11:25-26).

  • @bomac10000 As an Eastern Orthodox Christian myself, I can answer these questions. I can say that the souls of the righteous will be in the presence of God and His love for eternity. As for John 10:34, this means that people who receive God's grace in faith will partake of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) and can rightly be called gods (theosis). Finally, in Matthew 16:16-19, the "keys of the kingdom" refers to a special authority given to Peter and the other apostles that they pass on to bishops

  • What I want to experience is LDS temple worship, but since I am unable to do so since I am not LDS, I will never experience the fullness of the LDS faith. Their restriction prevents me from believing in it, since I gain beliefs through experiences. It's really their loss. I did however have a strong encounter with God at an Orthodox Christian temple, and I then became Orthodox. The Orthodox Christian Church is the One True Church and contains the fulness of faith and anyone can experience it.

  • Mormons are good people, but I'm sorry. They're religion just freaks me out!

  • @TheBnat1 The church began with a vision where god the father and his son visited a young man, this i know without a shadow of a doubt through prayer, i have this witness. also polygamy was practiced through out the bible.

  • @1rmikeratliff if jesus were god incarnate why then would he be talking to himself "father forgive them for they know not what they do" and who is god incarnates father

  • @Cloudtreker If you are an Orthodox Christian perhaps you can explain what happens to the souls of the Righteous after they die, and from there on? Or what is meant by Christ citing the fact that the scriptures TOLD THEM that they were Gods in John 10:34? Or what is being taught about revelation or the "keys of the kingdom" in Matt 16:16-19? You can't deny these are tenets of your Christianity, they are fact.

  • @Cloudtreker 1. No such thing as the "Mormon Church" 2. No tenants in the Church, the word "tenants" means someone lives there, did you mean "tenet"?

  • Everything is so white. It feels more like a hospital than anything else.

  • If you are a Mormon, perhaps you can explain to me the teaching that says a Mormon man, when he dies in the faith, goes to his own personal PLANET, and there fathers the souls of children that are born on earth. Or explain that on judgment day, we will stand before Jesus, God and Joseph Smith...and they will judge us. Or perhaps you can tell us about the Garden of Eden, that according to Mormon belief, was located somewhere in Ohio? You can't deny these tenants of the Mormon church. They are fact
