The Chilly Winds perform a modern spiritual by the late songwriter and author, Texan Jane Bowers. First recorded by the Kingston Trio on their 1963 "New Frontier" album, the song has remained popular with KT and folk fans ever since. This rendition is from the 2005 Mountain Music Festival in Manitou Springs, CO. Dave Batti as always for the Winds on bass.

To Be Redeemed is one-third of the great Kingston Trio trilogy; the other two being Road to Freedom and One More Town. I think many of you will agree with me. The Chilly Winds do a wonderful job.

Obviously you guys have worked on the vocalizations. You sound so so much like the originals!

@PRR5406 - appreciate your comment, PR. We are of course using the KT arrangement - I'm not aware of any other group having recorded this song.

Still sends a chill up my spine. R U anywhere near Richmond, VA?

Thanks! Sadly no - we live in NY, FL, and CA. But there is an excellent KT-type group called the Three Jolly Coachmen in VA - and they have a show this Friday 11/6 at the Colonial Theater in Williamsburg. I've heard their recordings and they're really good. Bet they could do this one if asked.
