Its not the last post its a Naval bugle call for stand down ie last post of the day. BUt not THER last post that is different, this is also not the sunset hymn
Its still called Evening Hymn and Last Post ... although in Hymns Ancient and Modern, the tune is used for Hail thou Ever Blessed Morn, there are always going to to be other words that the tune can be used for
When I was a Sea Cadet we went to Ypres for a week, a trip which culminated in us being the first cadets (from Britain certainly, if not ever) to play the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate. Absolutely incredible feeling that will stay with me forever! Total respect for them all.
Sounds like the Royal Marines to me

Who is performing this? This is a fantastic arrangement that I want to get for my band.

@jentlee1 The tune can be used for many things not just the hymn 'See amidst the Winter's Snow', although the association is more well known

As an army apprentice in my teen years I well remember sunset being played every evening. It moved me then and it moves me now, 45 years on.

Sorry but this evening hymn is in fact a Christmas Hymn "Hail thou ever blessed morn."
Evening Hymn - "The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended."
