Painting backwards was very difficult for me. The challenging part is to get your brain to function in a way that you are not used to. Each paint stroke seems as though it is going in the wrong direction. It took concentration. The meaning of the piece is exactly that. Sometimes we have to concentrate to see who needs light in there life. It might be that they are right behind us. We just have to concentrate to see the need come into focus.
Thats what I got out of this piece.-IVAN

  • he is looking in a mirror

  • @SuperToxicgummybear Yup. That is why I showed the mirror in the video.

  • I don't know why, but this reminds me of the music video "Clint eastwood" by the Gorillaz....I must ask sir, what do you do with your art after you complete it?

  • @low72 My work is for sale but that is not the main reason I paint. It is something I feel I have to share. My website is on my home page and is also my user name.

  • @denkluc It is not called painted with a blindfold. I showed the mirror intentionally. Painting in a mirror is quite difficult. I got the idea from an old art trick of looking at a piece in the mirror. It gives a new perspective and I use it when I finish most of my pieces. I think it gives me a perspective close to the viewers.

  • Thankyou for sharing your amazing talent!!!!!! You are truly a gifted man going within and letting the magic begin frigin fantastic.

  • @vinishdo I am not sure if I paint better but it sure does stretch my mind to think in different ways. It is sort of like mental exercise. It hurts sometimes but makes me stronger.

  • @wwwdotFindIvandotcom Do you think you paint differently (better?) than facing the surface directly? Myself a painter, I'm trying differently ways of approaching the surface more spontaneously for looser strokes, a fresher approach. Your thoughts?

  • @SuperToxicgummybear

Really great observation, there, Toxic. LOL

  • Pretty funny when you watch a vid like this and see 99 likes and 2 dislikes. those 2 people must hate their lives so much that they can't even give one person props for a job well done. Hateful people, I swear!! Even if it were a horrible painting which it's not. How could you dislike someone or something for just doing something they love, and even still using a mirror to do so and making it that much harder. Your amazing man, keep up the good work.

  • Very awesome Ivan you are very inspiring, I can not wait to meet you and talk about getting this tattoo!

  • great vid

  • youre art work is amazing. It is so innovative and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this with the world!

  • You're very experimental in your art. I like that. I need to be brave like that >.>
