The Clyde has seen many changes since 2000, this video shows some scenes that will never be seen again, including many shots of Renfrew where the whole area has been flattened. For Clyde enthusiasts the tugs in their light blue colours, the American vessels in KGV and some other scenes will be remarkably poignant for video that isn't that old.

(The opening shots show the Research Ship DISCOVERY - it was thought she'd never return, but she did!)

  • resurgence- there laying off 2/3 of fergusons ship builders, the last yard fully working! death is soon m8!

  • Yes, I agree it is bad at Port Glasgow . However Fergies aren't the last fully working shipyard. Govan and Scotstoun are both complete shipyards - Fergies distinction is that that they are the last commercial shipbuilders.

  • Hi Stumac - it was more I guess about scenes shipping nutters would recognise as unrepeatable! To balance it up, since those pictures were taken (around 200/2001) the Clyde has actually seen a resurgence in shipbuilding!
