So Engadget found this video and posted it . I should note that it turns out the main problem was a bad connection. After swapping monitors, I do have some minot flickering still. I have been told by Apple to check Software Update "soon".

A brand new 15"
MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB RAM connected to a 24" Apple display. There are some issues.

  • whats that stand or base you are using on your macbook pro? O_o

  • @luisM316 The stand is a mStand by Rain Design. You can get them on Amazon for a good price. They are very nice.

  • The real question here is... where did you get that background?

  • @matt452 backgrounds are from The Iconfactory.

  • Off the subject, but I see you have a key board. Can I get a Mac book and a display like you have but use a keyboard versus the one built on the Mac?

  • OMG, I am having this exact issue with the same specs. I have been in touch with Apple and they say they are aware of it, and are working on a firmware update. I demanded a little more than that... because this is affecting WORK of course... still haven't heard back. 2 trips to the Genius bar as well.

  • I'm having the same issue with 2011 mbp using thunderbolt. My 2009 Mbp works perfectly it's something to do with the thunderbolt port. They have to sort this soon what a joke

  • I have the same issue (look at the video in my channel).

Apple doesn't respond, doesn't care. Update to 10.6.7 didn't fix it.

This is the second consecutive Apple display I bought that stopped working in less than two years.

I swear, I will never in my life buy an Apple display again!

If you buy a CinemaDisplay from Apple, you must be dumb dumb dumb.

  • Are you still experiencing this issue or did the 10.6.7 update resolve it ?

  • When did Apple stop to test their new products? First the faulty iPhone 4 antenna and now this.

  • its obvious .. Apple sucks ^-^

  • id be shitty if I spent a $1000 on a screen that didn't work...no Apple Care?
