Phonograph: oak Victor Victrola Model 14 (VV-XIV) made in 1916 in New Jersey.

Song: Am I Blue? (1929) -- Music by Harry Akst, Lyrics by Grant Clarke from On With the Show.

Recording: Velvet Tone 1940-V (1929) by Annette Hanshaw and studio musicians, "The New Englanders."

Trivia: This song was initially made famous by the great singer, Ethel Waters. It was featured most recently in the excellent animated movie, "Sita Sings the Blues."

This take of the playback has a little skip near the middle due to a "spring slip" in the Victrola. Decided not to do another take in order to save wear on this (my first original Hanshaw) recording.
