  • So basically, "you're a douche, and you're greedy, if all your extra money, isn't going to the needy".

I liked this song the first time I heard it, now it just pisses me off. "Greed", implying anyone with more than an average amount of money is a bad person. Anyone with more than an average amount of money typically being a capitialist of some sort. Capitialists typically being people who MAKE JOBS and pay people like Matt to make music. Funny.

So, so very tired of political music.

  • Sorry to hear it doesn't resonate with you, TWOW. You seem like a thoughtful person who has a lot of opinions about politics, economics and music; perhaps that might lead you to your own creative expression.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Sexy Boots, Sexy Kilt, Sexy Voice = Sexy Man.

    Great Birthday Memory.

    It's MattMorris that's the killa...

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, Matt, but I dont believe this song is to be directed toward any individuals. The morale behind this work, doesnt follow a "chain of command" and isn't meant to target corporate monsters or "capitalists." It's not that complex. When something comes from the soul, it's usually quite simple. Bare bones?--A world without greed is a better world. Let money speak as a metaphore for anything worth sharing. Its about the people WITHOUT money, more than about the people WITH it.

  • I'd like to apologize. Though I am just a random listener who disagrees with your message, my statement was a little much. You're a brilliant musician, and for you to respond so respectfully to someone being obnoxious is really cool actually. I do like your music (regardless of the political message), and I hope you keep making it.

I could have just said "grr, political music" and been done with it.

    Again, my apologies.

  • Thanks, B.

  • They are my favorite! Thrift store gems, they are.

  • Ha! Cheers for that!
