  • @baseballstudent If arm strength is the key that go find the strongest NFL player with strong arms and put him up against a MLB pitcher or Minor League Pitcher throwing a baseball.

  • @baseballstudent the more strength you develop the more massive your arm becomes. If a player does not work out properly(3 pound weight shoulders, rows, pull downs, tricep pushups, a 2:1 ratio of tricep to bicep curls, open shoulders, and a strong backside), it will actually have no effect on velocity, if not a negative effect.

  • @KMAC71 Strength does have an effect on velocity to an effect. But many don't strengthen the right muscles and/or don't have the necessary elasticity. Med balls help increase velocity because it simulates throwing but with a larger weight. The best way to improve either velocity or bat speed is to throw a baseball or swing a bat. Weighted ball or not, it will pinpoint the muscles needed for throwing.

  • To BaseballStudent:

Do you know what the purpose of the arm is during pitching? The arm works eccentrically, thus, slowing itself down. Arm strength has nothing to do with velocity. The arm functions as a "whip" from a tremendous and tight rotation of the trunk and hips. The arm should not even be accelerated until it is in a gravity assisted position. The arm is just along for the ride until then.

Dr. Kevin J McGovern, PT, CSCS

  • speed and strength = power. Momentum = mass x velocity. In conclusion the more functional strength you can develop and the more speed you can develop the harder u throw. And arm strength is key every pitcher has a dynamic arm action, u dont throw with just your body or just your arm. its a combo of both. you need both functional strength and speed.

  • @greenrate

    i would say 1/4.

When i throw the ball moving the entire body faster, i can tell you that i don't even need to move my arm. My arm comes to the front almost by itself. This is what you have to feel when trowing with your body, your arm coming forward by itself!

  • He seems to identify . . . "pitching" with "throwing the ball".

Throwing the ball is . . .1/3 of pitching.

  • how old with 80s?? if u r 15 years old

there is a taiwanese 15 years old can throw 95s and signed by the japanese leage Giants

  • arm strength?? where ?? which part of arm?? how about body?? leg??

  • im a pitcher where could i go to train with you, i want to boost my speed, im around 80 82 but i want to throw some heat
