On Oct 10th, 2011, the Occupy Wall Street movement in Chicago, saw around 8,000 people to protest against the growing social and economic equality in US. The rally which started from the financial street, LaSalle, stopped the traffic at Michigan avenue and blocked the road at Monroe.
The rally was attended by teachers, students and volunteers represeting various Non-profits in Chicago like Chicago Coalition for the homeless.
Teachers, who had been left unempoyed spoke about the increasing trend towards butchering the public school system due to financial cuts.
Journalists from various media outlets were also present to cover the rally.
