An evolution is occurring in Human Resources trends, and it's being driven by the distinct characteristics, challenges, and advantages of hiring and managing Gen Y (Millennial) talent.
Embracing the technologically-savvy, intelligent, and diverse pool of Gen Y professionals is a path many companies know they should take. Yet finding transcendent Millennial talent demands more than matching skill-sets. It requires ensuring a cultural fit between company and professional - that intangible connection that motivates and sustains long-term talent success.
Aram Lulla, National Practice Group Leader for Human Resources at executive search firm Lucas Group, offers insight into this remarkable talent pool. For more information on this and other HR trends, visit www.lucasgroup.com.
Another trait of Gen Y, that was not mentioned here, is manners. My manners helped me land my dream job. As crazy as it sounds, I heard some of my competition had a hard time during the lunch interview. I guess my mother’s constant nagging about how to eat soup, what fork to use, and not letting me eat in front of the tv finally paid off!

There are countless articles about how Gen Y are slackers, but this guy gets it. We are collaborative, tech savvy, and love to learn. Glad to see this recruiter understands why the Gen Y workforce is critical in today's global economy.

Some insightful and very pragmatic thoughts. He's obviously someone who's worked with this group. Very well done.
