An awesome duet from the film Rajaadhi Raja. Composed by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja and sung by Mano and S.P.Shailaja this song is wonderful orchestrated. Share your comments folks!
@ycshkr I dont think you got it.. It was ordinary studio effects unit.. lexicon, boss or something and not any path breaking stuff. almost every studio had it, but back then music directors were only focusing on compositions and not on sound per se, and hence once in a while someone tries something out, it gets highlighted. Thats where Rahman pulled the rug under Ilayaraaja's empire and then scores of other 'sound + music' designers invaded the space.
Yup now it can be dismissed as fx..but back then it was chorus i believe...and to come up with this bak in 1989 was genius. IR was really good in coming up with such ideas!
@ycshkr what you call two men and women are audio fx, chorus, where there are innumerable options, delays, flanges etc.. these days they are insignificant plugins in all DAW software, earlier they were rackmount units in studios
actually the audio is brilliant.. two men and two women singing playback in sync ...in two different pitches and slightly varied tone! absolutely brilliant .. IR was a 'yamakaathakan' in all such nuances as SPB stated in a stage show.. if one gets the mp3, listen to it to know the real beauty of this rendition!
