Axe Fx Mark IIc+ petrucci-ish demo

Axe fx standard going through my KRK rockit5 monitors. This is the Mark IIc+ model with a bit of reverb and delay with the boost on the amp engaged. EQ settings were taken from a pic of John's mark settings.

Here's my settings:

Treble- 6.30 bright on

all advanced amp settings are the stock settings

Cab- Mono Hires mode
4x12 v30 model
mic- 57 dn
drive- 0

stereo delay
500 ms
9.8% feedback
12.6% mix
everything else stock for the delay

Graphic EQ
from left to right frequencies
63= .2
125 = -1.2
250= .3
500= -.9
1k= -1.6
2k= -1.0
4k= 1.3
8k= .8

Reverb is Md Room
Mix 20.1%
everything else stock

I have a null filter at the end to boost the signal as this is my solo patch, the level boosts 3db but everything else is stock

DUDE love your videos some of the best on youtube! I have a question if you dont mind? Are you have with the standard or would you prefer to have the ultra? im trying to make the decision between the standard and ultra....im a very basic guy dont do anything crazy.

@jayman1986777 Thanks man, I actually have a standard and an Ultra, the video was made a few years ago using my Standard. I use the Ultra live now and have the stardard as a backup

I own a iic+ and I can tell you that does not sound like a iic+

1. It's on youtube, compressed audio

2. It was recorded through the Isight mic on my Mac, not the best sound

its crazy all these people saying it sounds nothing alike yet petrucci who plays mesa loves the axe fx 2 and is geared up with them pretty sure hes a good judge.i always think how easy it is to rite na doesnt sound anything alike when really they have no idea

I've never owned a IIC+, but I do like the IIC+ mode on the MK V. I use the IIC+ mode for metallica and the likes and it sounds pretty good to me.

Guys...its compressed crappy YouTube audio. Recorded on a camera mic.

People who are saying the Axe FX sounds too digital either A) Haven't played one, or B) Are trying to fool themselves so that they won't want one.

The Axe FX is an amazing piece of equipment. Do yourself a favor and try one out if you can.

@nhvigier As much as I want to like the Axe Fx, it's still too digital for me.

It is a convenient and versatile set-up. But I was apparently born with very discerning ears and just couldn't pick playing this over my Mark V any day.
