Bravo! This rendition is absolutely beautiful and dripping with empathy and love. The tenor and bass voices were very steady and brought a certain gravitas.

The best performance by far on youtube ... You feel waves of sound and there is really beautiful harmony between womens and mens voices. And the moment of culmination is something what words can hardly dicsribe ...

I care not for barely noticeable shifts. Music isn't about being up and down and to the point, if it were it would be bland and boring. This version transcends any other on youtube, thank you very much.

Drop in tone was in the first 20 secs largely, but beautifully emotive rendition, much better understanding of Slavonic choral music then a lot of Western choirs who sing this.

@conductor78 If you listen to the beginning and jump to the end, you'll notice that the drop was not that significant, I would say not even half a note. What bothered me instead was that they seem to go on forever and don't stop to take a breath. I get the feeling that I'm out of air because they don't take any. weird feeling.

One of the best performance ever!

Bogorodice means woman who give birth to God, and Dzjewo means Virgin
Hi!
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful video. This piece - Vespers - is one of my favorite sacred works.
Could you please define for me "Bogorodice Dzjewo." I've heard different names to this particular section of the Vespers and I would like to know what is meant by the name given here. Thank you:0)

This is Russian Orthodox version of the "Hail Mary" prayer. Check out Wikipedia for more details on this version.
