Doctor Who Morph - Ninth Regeneration (Smiling Version)

Who said regenerations have to be traumatic? Say cheese.

How do you do the morph transition in iMovie?

I used iMovie 3.0.3; yours may be a newer version.

There are 15 transitional frames. import them and drag them from the clips pane to the timeline. Each clip duration defaults to a time of 00:06. Double click each frame in turn and change the duration by typing in "100" (When you hit enter this registers as 3:11, but this is ok). Next go to the trans menu on the right and select overlap. Set it to around 00:18 and then drag the blue box to the timeline, inbetween each frame. (continued)

(continued) Then open up each transitional frame again, and change the 3:11 to 00:01. For the first and last frame in the morph set it to around 02:00.

That's the long answer. In summary - trans, overlap.

I used Morpheus to plot points on both faces. From that it created 15 still frames. I took screenshots and tidied each picture up in Photoshop (the hair needed a bit of 'manual' work below the ear, as well as the jacket/neck area on the other side). Lastly I imported each picture into iMovie and put half second overlap transitions between each frame for a hopefully smooth effect. It took two evenings to complete. Hope that's enough info!

Just watched Doc Who confidential. Absolutely, Steven Moffatt not only looks and sounds like David Tennant's older brother, but he is clearly the disturbing spawn of a clandestine Chris/David clinch at an end of season party! Check for a double pulse...
