In the book, Dumbledore went into the forest and retrieved her from the centaurs. How he managed to do so was never explained.

I F**K*NG hate Umbridge! She's my least favourite character from the whole HP series! She took all the fun out of Hogwarts by practiacally banning magic and tortured innocent kids, but made herself out to be a lovely warm hearted teacher.
