  • This is a version of Kullervo you can't miss. Is is full of unexpected inner details and great supporting the power, the originality and the instrumentation art of one of the greatest composers.

  • @berrik500 Thanks for this upload. I heard Paavo Jarvi's performance of Kullervo with the Orchestre de Paris about a year ago with the marvellous Soile Isokoski as soloist (the bass was not good) and so far it's the best I've encountered so this makes an interesting comparison. I have to say the brass section of the O.D.P. is fantastic, possibly the finest of any orchestra. I adore this music and cannot understand why Sibelius had it suppressed in his lifetime.
