Harry Winter (born Horst Winter) performing "Und jetzt ist es still", with the Wiener Tanzorchester. Song written by Hans Lang (music) and Erich Meder (lyrics) © 1948 Austroton.
Betty Hutton covered this song in 1951 with "Blow a Fuse", that was covered in turn by Björk in 1995 with "It's oh so quiet".
Very rare recording, enjoy ;)

Dai che l'inglese lo sapete tutti ormai! Prima e unica registrazione presente su YouTube di questo sconosciuto brano...e primo mio upload. Grazie per le visite!

  • I guess the Betty Hutton arrangement was by a German musician?

  • @Shtove

    Bert Reisfeld (Vienna, 1906 - Badenweiler, 1991)

  • yeah, betty sutton does a great work with that song, cause how boring the way it is here.

  • @camadi69

I agree, she did a good work...Björk just "re-sang" her version, but still enjoyable ;)

  • @Bonqo Not at all. Björk's version get it so much better. Betty's version sound like a cheap decadent circus song. Björk has wonderful voice.

  • @TantPire I like Björk and I agree she has a wonderful voice, but that's the only difference between her version and Betty's. The song is almost the same, but I still prefer Betty's performance.

  • @Bonqo i have to side with @TantPire - Bjork's version is the best, she just injects so much soul and fun in to it

  • @cesiface Ah, thanks :)

  • @sunnygirly2k4 'And now it's quiet'

  • What does the title mean translated into English - It's Oh So Quiet, right?

  • I wanna hear Bjørk do this version.

  • It's a pity that so much of it is lost in this recording. I'm sure this would be far from boring with a good quality audio transfer, very doubtful one even exists though.

  • @Bonqo

    Bert did a good job!
