Dupli-Color® Shadow™ Chrome Black-Out Coating is a two-can system that creates the popular look of black chrome on polished metal or chrome surfaces for cars, trucks and motorcycles. The system includes a translucent black base coat that casts a dark shadow effect. The clear top coat is for added gloss, depth, and protection from the elements. Shadow™ is resistant to brake dust, road abrasion, chipping, and fading making it ideal for chrome wheels, bumpers, interior/exterior trim, accessories, and under hood components.

  • do you have to wash the rims first

  • @MrHoess1234

Yes, prep is the most important part of any paint project. We recommend thoroughly washing and degreasing prior to paint application. A clean surface allows for the paint to adhere and since Shadow is translucent, any dirt under the basecoat will show through.

  • So there is no need to sand the wheels? just prep spray it and then base and clear?

  • @lespaulguitarist92 as he says in the video, do not sand the wheels, it is a translucent black coating, any scratches will show through. Just make sure it is clean and use the prep spray, the smoother the finish on the rim, the better it will look.

  • Should i add some adhesion promoter first? Before i start painting.

  • @EliteStangsCustoms You do not need to, just follow the steps in the video, clean/ prep spray, and paint.

  • I am a complete amateur when it comes to spray painting, or anything extremely artistic for that matter...but since you are the experts, if i have a polished aluminum wheel that appears to have that shiny, flashy chrome look, would i be able to achieve the same end result with this product, given i had someone experienced to do the work?

  • lol..... i like the camera man/woman....

  • Does this stuff actually last? Can it take the weather and heat or will it just wear off after a few years?

  • Will this work on a motorbike exhaust? Is it resistant to heat?

  • ahhh intendi tdo vlw :(

  • No entiendo nada.....este video es,como joder una llanta cromada con una mierda de spray???

  • listen i dont no of any one who likes black wheels.just leave them alone
