My experimental Cassutt aircraft powered by a Chevrolet Corvair engine. Running 110HP. Converted for aircraft use. Update from my first video showing it running in this video. Changes include new carb, re-pitched prop, new intake, new capacitive fuel gauge, redesigned starter bracket. Wing is being worked on at another location.

  • Sounds like she is running smooth. Great to see another Corvair conversion getting close to flying time! What carb did you have before the Marv Sheb? Are you using gravity feed or a fuel pump?

  • @TailwheelForrest

An Aerocarb was my previous carb. Some people like them. Based on my experiences I consider them unsafe for aircraft use. I use gravity feed.

  • Hi Mike, Convair version looks great! Would be happy to hear more about it on our Cassutt website as we have a couple of builders there. w w w . cassutt - racer dot com

  • What seemed unsafe about the Aerocarb? I like the apparent simplicity, but never messed with one yet.

  • Sweet. WW says the fastest Corvair powered plane will be a Cassutt. Maybe yours! Looks like the aspect ratio of this video is off - this plane looks taller and shorter than a Cassutt. Or is it just me?

  • my god, the legs are almost touching the firewall, i dont want to be in a belly landing situation on this aircraft . people that fly and race this kind of airplanes really have guts

  • Very nice.

  • looks nice one of my customers is working on one to in his garage very cool and way to go! thanks for sharing.
