  • Hey all ~ Someone made a comment that the name of the band was 'horrible' (you're an idiot, by the way). Moving on, Malignant Tumor was named in memory for a friend of Shock's (original singer) who passed away from cancer in the early 80s - hence the song, Tumor Death. After singing with several bands after MT, Shock did get clean in the early 90s and never shot dope again up until his death a couple of years ago from pancreatic disease. RIP Shock - forever in my hearts.

  • sorry it was the FOE demo tape.....

  • This was the first hardcore band I ever saw, around 1983. They played with the Cro-Mags at the Rainbow Nightclub in Passaic NJ! I only went because my cousin Rich P took me and he was friends with Dave the drummer. Needless to say it changed my life! The Tumor demo was one of my favorite back in the day. Just recently Rich gave me his Malignant demo tape along with the MOE demo! Haven't had a chance to make mp3's out of them. It's like pulling the soul right out the the cassette tape.

  • I used to go crazy over this band....I heard that Jimmy (singer) died...anyone know when? How? Heroin?

  • Botany Village Skins!!!

  • would you(your dad or perhaps "davoid88") happen to have a copy of the M.T. demo?,would love a copy!,i had even sent $5 to Paul Cavanaugh @ WFMU as he requested to make me a copy back in "84-85" but never got the tape!,early njhc was some of the best around, great stuff on MUTHA & the Buy Our Records labels,i.e. of which i've got tons of stuff in my vinyl/tape collection!...i need to add to add M.T. to complete!

  • i wonder if the recording you mention that never came to be(?)was the same forthcoming EP i read about in an early issue of "Sporadic Droolings"fanzine,if it is i guess now i know why it never came out,sad news about your dad & shock, hope they both made a complete turnaround(is shock still around?),you're right about heroin..worst drug on the planet,my dad died of a heroin o.d.47 yrs ago!,i was a year old,48 now & still diggin' M.T.!

  • WOW!!!...Malignant Tumor,i can't believe i finally found something on them on the youtube!,everytime i'd put in a search it would only turn up stuff from the grindcore band of the same name!,been trying to find a demo tape the band had out in the early 80's which got frequent airplay on WFMU(Paul Cavanaugh air slot w/'Morbid")all i have on the band are tapes i recorded off the air,but the quality is pretty low. Thanks for putting this out there bro, great stuff!

  • P.S. He was one of the lucky ones too!

  • My husband is on bass.
