Great Philly sound... Not sure which is the first pressing (Arlen or Gina). I thought Gina was first but a very well known collector told me that Arlen is first... Even with the off key high note this is a fantastic ballad.

  • Very popular on the Porky Chedwick show (Pgh PA) in th early '60's. I bought my copy in 1964 or '65 on the Arlen label. It is still one of my all time favorite slow sounds.

  • You got yourself a great record.. Although I've seen it printed in one of the books as the 2nd, I believe Arlen is the first label for this

  • Beautiful- never heard this - thanks- no out of tune singing here- just more complex harmonies excellent, soulful passionate everything I love about that era's vocal groups-Betcha the geeter with the heater played this puppy a lot

  • Unless I'm losing my mind I definitely hear the lead go out of tune in a few spots, but I love it. It's a part of the humanity of this music, and you're right - this is a damn soulful effort.

  • Jerry Blavat made this super popular in Philly in the early '60's. Gina is the 2nd pressing. I bought my copy at the Record Museum.

  • Great info. Thank you
