BLING (Better Living in Girls) is designed to empower girls with different abilities; encourage them to be accepting of who they are; find support in a peer network; enhance quality of life. Promote the overall well-being; Provide opportunity for young women with disabilities to learn about relevant health issues and encourages them to make choices that support their wellness and high quality of life; facilitate opportunity for young women to discover how a positive self-image impacts their daily lives and promotes confidence for themselves and others with disabilities

The Myelodysplasia Program at Children's Hospital Boston is one of the oldest and largest comprehensive, interdisciplinary centers for the care of children with spina bifida in the country. Myelodysplasia, also called spina bifida, refers to a number of conditions caused by neural tube defects. In affected children there is, to a varying degree, a failure of formation of the spinal cord, brain, and spinal column which can cause multi-system disorders.
