The cup holders in 1990s era Subarus are notoriously weak, and in an inconvenient location, blocking the climate controls, clock, and radio. When mine broke for good, I replaced it with a home-made wooden center console station. Took all of an hour, and cost nothing, using scrap wood. Hope this easy project idea helps somebody.

Sure, it's "ghetto", but it's a lot better than what I had before.

  • Redneck solution. You can't block your parking brake, especially if you have a real gearbox. And that "change" pocket is where the seat heater switches go.

Why don't you paint your windscreen black and throw out the flimsy visors?
